On Saturday December 15, 2007, Santa Clause, accompanied by Winnie the Pooh, visited Atlas Pythagoras lodge in Westfield, NJ, where they spent time playing and handing out gifts to children. Later, everyone enjoyed a nice lunch together like one big family. We thank everyone who participated in this yearly event and who contributed to its success. Keep this event in mind for next year if you would like your child, grand child, or any of your relatives to participate in AP's Christmas Party.

The Summer did not go by without the Brethren taking parts in rehearsals, investigating new candidates, committee meetings on things to come and the trustees continually planning to improve the grounds and the lodge itself.

The Worshipful Master Eugenio "Mel" Melendez was assisted in re-arranging and updating our Secretary Office/Library/Trustees Conference Room since the beginning of July by R.W. Thurman C. Pace, Jr., our Historian. They went through all the Lodge records and files and discovered many collectables which are now in display. They also went though all the books on all subjects and sorted and arranged them for our library, which is accessible to all members. Wor. Richard A. Hammill and Bro. Steven Bohn joined efforts in sorting out valuables. We now have more organized and roomier sections of the Lodge. R.W. William L. Morris, Jr. was also assisting the W.M. by setting up new programs for our computer for efficiency and to speed up communications and reports.

The Amish-Mennonite Outing began with 81 reservations and we had 69 attend. There were souvenirs and the ladies received prayer hats, white for married and black for single girls. The men received Amish hats while they were available. The tables were set up in checkered covers and candles and snacks decorated them There were also kerosene lanterns hanging from the ceiling. Two stoves were lit, one charcoal and the other gas to cook our feast. The members helped themselves to a keg of birch beer and some Pennsylvania ale as well as lemonade and pies and more. The Master also awarded 6 “Spirit Awards” to Brethren who worked at the Lodge while it is in darkness. Everyone departed very happy and their bellies full.

On Saturday, May 5, 2007 from 9:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M., Atlas Pythagoras No.10 provided to the community again with its Annual Children's I.D. Program or C.H.I.P.S. The C.H.I.P.S addresses the alarming fact that more and more children are reported missing each year. While most are found, many are not.

The Masonic CHIP program consists of four parts, photo, video interview, fingerprinting and tooth print, making CHIP the most comprehensive program available. ALL of the identifying materials generated by the program are given to the child's family. We retained none of the information. The program was offered to the public at no charge!

The event was spearheaded by R.W. Nicholas L. Pagnetti and he received assistance from many Brethren and non-Masons alike towards documenting a total of 91 children. This carnival-like affair offered complementary cookies, soft drinks, balloons and friendly atmosphere and conversations was enjoyed by all. Thank you to everyone who worked and participated in this most important program to protect our children. . We hope that you will join us again next year.

The following Brethren and Friends attended, worked or gave moral support to the C.H.I.P.S. program. How good and how pleasant is for Brethren to work in unity.
