“Renaissance”
Dear Brethren,
“A man has an idea. The idea expands. The idea becomes an institution.” The American holiday of Thanksgiving has long evolved from unornamented, Puritan origins to the cherished institution with a near mythical back story that we celebrate today. How much of Thanksgiving’s beginning is historical fact and how much is romanticized legend is irrelevant to the impact it continues to have on American society. With its themes of familiar gatherings and universal gratitude, it is a rare celebratory pause in the course of twelve months that transcends creed, faith, and ideology, political or otherwise. It is an opportunity to harvest from our labors and take inventory of all that is worthy of the purist of gratitude and celebration in each of our lives. On behalf of the officer line of Atlas Pythagoras, I wish all of you and your families a most blessed and happiest yet, Thanksgiving holiday.
Fraternally,
Henry Da Silva
